Leeds balloon footage

On Saturday 2nd May, we launched from Potternewton Park in Leeds. The recovery afterwards was a lot easier than last time, no trees! It landed in a pea field in a village near Barton-Upon-Humber. Here’s the field, and the farm dog who came with us to see what was going on:

Dog in pea fieldThe footage is amazing, we think this one definitely went the highest so far and spent the most time in space. There’s also some really nice early morning pink/orange clouds as it travels up. Here’s where you can watch it:

In the week leading up the launch, we spent time in Leeds visiting different community groups through East Street Arts, to tell people about the launch and A Decade With Mars. Here’s one group we visited. We also went to Shire Oak Primary School and worked with a Year 5 class.

Here’s some still images from the balloon, as it goes up through the clouds and enters near space.
