On Saturday 2nd May, we launched from Potternewton Park in Leeds. The recovery afterwards was a lot easier than last time, no trees! It landed in a pea field in a village near Barton-Upon-Humber. Here’s the field, and the farm dog who came with us to see what was going on:
The footage is amazing, we think this one definitely went the highest so far and spent the most time in space. There’s also some really nice early morning pink/orange clouds as it travels up. Here’s where you can watch it:
In the week leading up the launch, we spent time in Leeds visiting different community groups through East Street Arts, to tell people about the launch and A Decade With Mars. Here’s one group we visited. We also went to Shire Oak Primary School and worked with a Year 5 class.
Here’s some still images from the balloon, as it goes up through the clouds and enters near space.
