It is the last day before we perform as part of Sprint at Camden People’s Theatre. This will be the first full length showing of the work. We began this week by showing a rough run of the whole performance to other Residence members. This felt really important because it gave us a sense of what the piece is like for an audience to experience. From then on over the past week we have been looking over the piece in detail, trying to make the transitions smoother and really pick out the moments that link each section together and give the work a greater depth. We have had our dramaturg Jess Mansel with us all week to help us look at the performance from an outside perspective. It has been hard work but quite satisfying as it starts to come together. Last night we practiced in the new larger tent for the first time and started to feel excited about the weekend.
Here’s a photo of us working this week.
There are still a few tickets left for the CPT performances. Also if you buy a ticket to a Friday night performance you get free entry to a party that night to celebrate Sprints 15th birthday. We are looking forward to having a few drinks afterwards – see you there.
